Billy Graham's Son Coming To
Craigavon
23rd June 2005Billy Graham’s son Franklin is hoping to have an
evangelistic crusade in Craigavon in 2007. An inter-denominational
group called ACTION (Announcing Christ’s Teaching in our
Neighbourhood) are behind the initiative.
“Since handing out over 3000 Jesus videos in the area a few years
ago, we have been praying and thinking much about what to do next.
We decided to talk to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association to
explore the possibility of having a crusade in the Craigavon
area,” said Henry Holloway from Queen Street Methodist Church in
Lurgan.
“The initial reaction was positive and a few weeks ago, we had a
visit from Texas Reardon, the Interim Vice-President of Crusades
for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Representatives
from over thirty local churches heard Texas outline the format of
the crusade which would be led by Billy Graham’s son, Franklin.”
Plans are still at a very early stage with decisions still to be
made about dates and a venue.
“We’re really excited about the possibility of Franklin Graham
coming and the impact that it will have on the Craigavon area not
forgetting the rest of Northern Ireland,” concludes Henry. |
