Apostolic Church Hit Hard By
Tsunami
29th January 2005
The tragedy of the Boxing Day Tsunami has clearly stirred the
hearts and minds of people locally. And even small church
denominations have been hit hard by the tidal wave.
In Sri Lanka, the Apostolic Church there lost six members in the
disaster. Over 120 families also lost their homes and two churches
were completely destroyed.
Shocked by the plight of their sister churches, the Lurgan and
Portadown Apostolic Churches have sent out over £4,000 to Sri
Lanka. This included a donation from the “Faith in Action” charity
shop in Lurgan’s Union Street.
