Civil servant Amanda Milligan has been attending the Bridge Community Church for over 20 years. She has seen the hand of God working in other people’s lives but she has also experienced God’s healing power in her own body.

“A few years ago, I was diagnosed with a hernia. It was uncomfortable but the pain was bearable. In early 2005, the hernia got worse and the pain became totally unbearable. Every night, I would be awakened with severe pain and a horrible burning sensation in my throat,” explained Amanda.

Even with her doctor prescribing painkillers and antacids, Amanda was unable to get relief from the pain but then God intervened.

“I knew that Jesus healed people in the New Testament but I wasn’t entirely convinced that He could still do it today. But I am now! In May 2005, an international healing evangelist called John Mellor visited the Bridge Community Church. John prayed for me, the pain disappeared instantly and it hasn’t come back!”

So how did that happen?

“Quite simply, God has given John Mellor a gift of healing and when John touched my body, God worked through John to heal me!”
